I have worked in the human service field since I was 15 years old. My first job was working with children whose mothers were survivors of domestic violence. I obtained my Master's in Public Administration. My last job was in upper level non profit management serving people with physical and/or developmental disabilities. I consider teaching yoga my most recent job in the human service field with all my experiences prior leading me there. As far as my own practice practice.... During my time living in Massachusetts, I found yoga. My first class was at Yoga in Melrose and I was hooked from my first class. Yoga changed the course of my life, and changed me— body, mind and spirit. It was like no form of exercise I had ever done—it quieted my mind, strengthened my body and brought me a feeling of inner and outer strength. After 6 years of yoga practice, I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training (at a Yoga Alliance recognized school, Inner Light Yoga Center) to renew my commitment to my own yoga practice and to perhaps be able to bring yoga to others. I am registered with Yoga Alliance and am insured through Fitness & Wellness Liability Insurance. My classes are caring, responsive, interactive and with a sense of reverence for your yoga experience but with a touch of fun. |
